What’s Happening for Houston Veterans This Week (June 29-July 6)
Happy Monday and Happy 4th of July Week, Civvie!
It's a time to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy because of the men and women who served our country. While the veteran calendar is a little lighter this week, it's the perfect opportunity to slow down, spend time with family and friends, and reconnect with a fellow veteran.
If you're looking to get out, check out VFW Steak Night on Friday or Freedom Lunch on the Fourth, where volunteers will come together to honor aging veterans and serve those in need. Then next week, the calendar picks right back up with networking events and opportunities to grow your connections across the Houston veteran community.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for The Civvie Connect in Katy last week. We had a fantastic turnout for our first event on Houston's west side, and we're excited to keep building the community (see below a photo of the great group that came out).
Even when the calendar isn't packed, community doesn't stop. Invite another veteran to grab lunch, explore a local coffee shop, visit a brewery, or simply catch up. Sometimes the best opportunities begin with a simple conversation.
