About The Civvie

We believe that when veterans leave the military, they shouldn’t have to leave their community behind.

The Civvie exists to keep veterans connected locally — to events, resources, businesses, and opportunities that matter in everyday life after service.

Our mission is to make it easier for veterans to find what’s happening around them, stay informed, and feel part of something again.

Meet The Civvie Commander

Hal Fischer, USAF (Vet)

Halfway through my 20-year military career, I decided to skip the second half… and it changed everything.

Here’s what happened next:

I started 9 companies and successfully exited 4 of them.

Most of what I’ve built since leaving the military has stayed tied to one mission: supporting veterans after service.

Along the way, I kept seeing the same problem.

There are countless organizations, resources, events, and businesses that want to support veterans, but the information is fragmented, scattered, and poorly promoted. Veterans are left to navigate it alone.

There needs to be one trusted place where veterans can go to find local information on what’s happening, what’s available, what’s going on, and who has their back.

That’s why I built The Civvie.

A modern, hyper-local media and community platform designed to keep veterans informed, connected, and supported long after service. We bring together local events, resources, veteran-owned and patriot-aligned businesses, job opportunities, and veteran stories — all in one place.

This is the platform I wish had existed when I transitioned.
