Happy Monday, Civvie!
This week brings a strong mix of opportunities for the Houston veteran community. From a Veterans Town Hall and major hiring events to a women’s retreat, a Mardi Gras fundraiser, and time on the golf range. There’s something for every season of life and transition.
Next week, momentum continues with Boots to Business Reboot and The Civvie Connect on February 25, our relaxed, in-person meetup for veterans and supporters ready to plug back in. If you’ve been meaning to get out and reconnect, this is a good window to do it.

The Civvie Spotlight: DajLeon Fair - From Gridiron to Grit. A Veteran Founder’s New Fairway
DajLeon Farr is built different.
Born and raised in Houston, he helped North Shore win its first state championship. He went on to play college ball, then spent time in the NFL. When that chapter ended, he enlisted in the Army at 27 looking for stability and a new mission.
He landed in Alaska as a mechanic. Negative temps, long darkness, and nonstop motor pool work. It tested him, shaped him, and gave him back something most athletes miss when the lights go off. The team. The grind. The camaraderie.
After a medical retirement and spinal surgery, DajLeon kept moving. Acting school in L.A. A few TV and film roles. A Pandora commercial. Then insurance and financial advising, where he got obsessed with how money actually works and how to build real wealth with the right vehicles.
That same curiosity followed him to the islands. Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Bermuda. Then he came home to Houston in July with a clear goal. Build something he actually enjoys, something that can grow, and something that supports a big, expanding family. Baby number five is on the way.
That’s when his newest play was born.
A mobile golf simulator experience that literally brings the course to you. An inflatable setup, turf, projector, trackers, and thousands of course options. He can turn a backyard, a venue, or an event into a full experience. Add-ons like bartenders, DJs, and a social setup make it perfect for watch parties, company events, fundraisers, and community meetups.
It’s more than golf. It’s connection and community. The same elements that defined his time in uniform and on the field, and the same foundation The Civvie is built on.
